SURGIFOAM® (Product Code: 1972) is an absorbable gelatin sponge manufactured by Ethicon, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson. Designed for hemostatic applications, this sterile, off-white, and porous sponge effectively controls capillary, venous, and arteriolar bleeding during surgical procedures where conventional methods are insufficient.

• Material: Porcine gelatin 
• Absorption Time: Gradually absorbed by the body over 4 to 6 weeks

Indications for Use: SURGIFOAM® is indicated for surgical procedures (excluding ophthalmic) to control bleeding when traditional methods such as pressure or ligature are ineffective or impractical. It can be used dry or saturated with sterile sodium chloride solution. While not necessary, combining SURGIFOAM® with thrombin can enhance hemostatic efficacy.

Storage Requirements: Store at controlled room temperature between 59ºF and 86ºF (15ºC to 30ºC).
